Lauren Conrad's Very Stylish Home
The following pictures are some of my huge inspirations at the moment that I have even printed and kept in a little scrap book! These pictures are from Lauren Conrad's home.
Teaming up with The Coveteur (A website which takes you inside the closets and homes of influential fashion forecasters showing you what culminates in their personal style) you can take a sneak peek into Laurens private inspirations.
I have loved Lauren ever since Laguna Beach and followed her story through The Hills and her fashion labels for Kohl’s and Paper Crown.

These are truly beautiful photographs of a very stylish living space, which I can only but dream to one day have!

McQ A/W 12
I'm late in posting in this and the longer I left it the more I felt like everybody already knew and wasn't worth it, but since I have watched the video every single day since (This is not a lie, I'm oobsessed!) I thought I'm just going to post it so everyone else can enjoy it again too!
So at this year London Fashion Week, McQ had its very first catwalk show. Alexander McQueen’s diffusion has been slowly making its mark on the fashion scene over the past couple of seasons but now as Sarah Burton has taken over as Creative Director (Since the very sad passing of Lee Alexander McQueen himself) McQ has made its way into the spotlight.

They only was I can describe this as a magical theatrical experience. The models donned a mix of military looks, with some sharply tailored coats, leathers, tartans and over-the-knee boots then clashed with velvet and tulle ballgowns and floral feminine patterns. Finishing the show was a white ‘wedding dress’ worn by Kristen McMenamy, She stopped mid-catwalk, where autumn leaves dropped from the ceiling she then crouched to the floor to reveal a long piece of rope. As she pulled the rope and walked back, the plain backdrop opened up a whole forest behind, with a small tree house where she creeped inside. After a few seconds of silence the tree house light up with array of rave lighting and music, the models strutted out of the forest down the catwalk to the beat of the music.

I urge everyone to watch this video of the ending of the show. Although it is crappy quality (even though its Grazia) its my favourite version of all the video's of it on youtube. It gives you the feeling like you're almost there experiencing it yourself and I never ever get sick of watching it.
McQ is definitely one to keep your fashion eyes on!

Last week a few girls from the Fashion Journalism course at my university asked me if I would model for their styling project. They had to choose a trend, reference a decade and aim it for a publication.
The publication was i-D. The trend was pastels. The decade reference was 90s grunge,
with a touch of Lana Del Rey (As everyoneeee loves her!)

We shot in Hampton, an idyllic village on the suburbs of London inhabited by the retired and families, so I did get some funny looks as I rocked up in spiked Lita's and a floral headpiece! I think the pictures came out really nice in the end and I had a really fun day of getting to stroll around in beautiful clothes (which is always fine by me! haha)
Hope everyone has a fab weekend!

Recently bought..
I've bought quite a few things in the last month due to procrastination haha!
From left to right: Red cardgian - Primark, Polka dot shirt -  Primark,
Mint pleated midi skirt - Primark, Floral sleeveless shirt - Miss Selfridge,
Cat face shoes - Miss Guided, Patent slip on shoes - Office,
Green collar dress - Miss Selfridge, Orange mini skirt - H&M,
Striped mini skirt - H&M, Zip up hoody - Topman
Ever since I clapped eyes on the Charlotte Olympia cat shoes I've been dying to find a rip off pair on the high street, surprisingly I haven't seen anywhere do the same sort of thing until finally last week when I went onto Miss Guided and saw these babies! The little patent slip ons are my 'please hire me for an internship look how sensible I am' shoes which I will put into practise in the summer!

I haven't taken any decent pictures in the past week or done anything terribly exciting so here's a drunken picture of me from Monday night!

DIY Lana Del Rey Headband

I'm a little bit obsessed with Lana at the moment. From her beautiful singing voice to her vintage Hollywood looks and everything about her style. Her statement flower headpieces are a favourite of mine and as soon as I saw her rocking one I was dying to get my hands on one! I didn't find anything on the highstreet of the same quality so decided to have a go making one myself.

It was actually pretty simple. All you need is a thin headband, superglue, sissors, ribbon and some artifical flowers (I picked mine up from Wilkinsons!)

So first off I snipped the heads of flowers and about 5cm of the stem.
I then wrapped the stem around the headband as sercurely as I could, This can be a bit tricky
as the stem is made from metal but does bend you just gonna push hard.
I repeated this enough times until I was happy with how many flowers I wanted on there.
Then I took my ribbon and superglued the end of it around one end of the headband.
Then began to wrap the ribbon around the headband covering the stems of the flowers, once I got to the other end of headband I snipped my material and superglued this end as well.
And ta-dah!

I hope this was easy enough for everyone to understand :)
